Inner Fire
That seeks for fulfillment –
Does it still burn?
The trees in mist
On the winding road
Past Smokey Hollow,
And near the summit,
The old manse sits
Dark and damp
In a previous century.
I wonder about the owners
And if they loved rain;
They remind me of you—
Gentle and healing
And they became
Part of the landscape…
The elements
Of my mood today,
Blue and black,
Occasionally gray
The palette of colours
I paint.
I put you in words
As my heart
Rides the wind
And thoughts
Sail away
To a land
Below the horizon
Where you can be safe.
Don’t be afraid
Of hidden desires:
You thought beauty
Was the outward show,
But now you know:
It’s always been
The inner fire.

That feeling for fulfillment still burn inside. Yes, we are free in the outside world but somewhere deep down there is desire for more.
What a way to write about beauty . It's a fire , A fire whose flames don't burn at all. A fire we are attracted towards. A fire that burn inside but it initiate when "I am no more"

Beautiful. Reminds me of Frost's Stopping by woods on a snowy evening. I guess our perception of beauty and what we as a species, as cultures, do with it will haunt us for ever.

Cosby himself for years projected an image of goodness and moral integrity for black youths. With the recent scandals and his shameful trials, it makes us question once more the old Spanish adage "we see faces, no hearts"
This is a good comment, but why didn't you vote? The comment alone adds no value to the post without a vote and I in turn will add no value to your comment by way of reward. This is a serious problem on Steemit - people voting only for themselves and making comments to try to get curation rewards. Bad etiquette
My VP is now 85% i try to upvote over 90 at least, given my SP is only 24.9. I think you made a lamentable hasty judgement. Bad etiquette... Wow. So it is better to post a crappy comment as long as a vote was given. I guess it's a matter of principles and perception.
