I Know your Sins
The sadness of your eyes
Reached deeper
Into your mystery
Than the rain.
Penetrated
Like a mist
Beyond walls and barriers
You put up to deter others—
I understand…
I’ve done the same
I’m well acquainted
With your pain
But in fall
When colors blur
And November winds
Make autumn chill
Cling to me
Though it goes
Hard
Against your will
I’ve gone beneath
Your lovely skin;
I know your sins
And love you still.

A good poem. Lots of feeling. I also have many poems, but I must rhyme or they are not good. At least I have not written one that doesn't rhyme that sounds good so far.
thanks for your comment John - try reading some poems by Margaret Atwood and Leonard Cohen online - the more you read, the more you'll understand and be able to get into their tone of voice. Poetry makes its own word music within your head - you don't need rhyme to turn into a song. After a while, you'll become artful in this medium
