Have we peered in
To uncover the foul wake
Of sin?

It’s a hard to face
Seeing another
In the mirror,

The shadowy enemy
Who haunts our nightmares.
...
Murky fears
Careen out of darkness
At night
Like a runaway locomotive;

Can we face the unpleasant fact
That monsters walk
The dark pathways
Of our secret motives?

There's suffering from love
And suffering from grief –
Either one permanently
Scars the soul…

I think it easily happens—
We lose our way
And fall back
On certain forms
Of escapism
Rather than living
...
We need to recover
Our innocence,
That pure star
That beckons to us
From afar

We need to be authentic
In everything we do;

It's never easy,
But I can see your heart
Twinkling

In the black firmament
Inside you.
