Losing the Dream
Standing on the edge of everything,
Marvelling at the castle of dreams,
That's been built in the air,
Over the years,
Of yearning aspiration.
Only to have it come crashing,
Down back to reality.
The devastating loss of the dream,
Is not as hard to bear,
As the truth of the reality,
That now stands in its place.
Dreams wither away with time and get replaced and destroyed by what are deemed to be inevitable aspects of the harsh world we live in, yet to dream on is not a futile sin. Well done! I love this. Thank you!
