My Country
Darkness has fallen upon my country,
Thick thick darkness dwells within,
Oh how corruption has taken over leadership,
How injustice has taken us to the sea,
And murder has forced the horse to drink water,
Day after day do my country men mourn over this devastation,
The sea has overflow with our tears,
And the heavens are filled with our wailing,
But is that what we should be doing oh fellow Nigerians?
Let us take action now,
Let us rise up and fight the fine fight,
With the last drop of blood in our veins,
Let us resist corruption,
Bury injustice and deviate from murder,
Let us drag the sun over our country, so darkness would give way,
Let us fight this fight not for ourselves,
But for generation yet untold,
So that when they pledge to this country they do it with courage and willingness not with reluctance as we do
This piece is about my country Nigeria...! I am proud to be a Nigerian and I hope some day my Children will be proud too
