Lady in the Night

This feeling I get when the dark ends the light.
Waiting for the time, at the stroke of midnight.
No more struggles, it’s the end of fight.
Into the abyss I spread my wings and take my flight.

Having you as my only company.
Listening to my non-sense.
All those long chats with you,
I find new self-confidence.

I can’t seem to hold back what I feel inside.
Just like a mad dog, raging left and right.
You give me serenity, take away my insanity.
Having feelings for you is a sin, and so I am guilty.

Every ounce of my being seems to be longing.
Showing emotions to others really is not my thing.
But with you showing them is like being free.
Talking to each other, no one else matters, just you and me.

Losing you seems to be the hardest thing for me.
But I must face the hard truth and reality.
In the morning you won’t be there, again I am empty.
If only our midnight would last forever and be an eternity.

Everything is grey now, as I welcome the light.
Oh how I wish time would fly and bring me my midnight.
Now nothingness grips and seeps on my weaknesses.
I seem to feel nothing now, but pure emptiness.
