[ORIGINAL POEM] All the Time, All Day, Everyday

Everyone is at a certain level of development
And you can never force someone to change
The only one you can force to change is yourself
And you have to change, all the time, all day, everyday
You will change, and so will everything else, always
It’s one of the few things we know for sure in this life

You cannot demand someone to act as if they were more developed
It’s like asking a fish to climb a tree
A blind person to see
A dumb person to talk
A deaf person to hear
Or a paralyzed person to suddenly stand up and walk

People just can’t do it, it’s beyond their capacity right now
It doesn’t matter how much you want them to be able to do it
How much you blame and shame them
People are the way they are, let them be, let life teach them
And real change always comes from internal forces
Forgive them, love them, because they’re doing just what they can today
