RE: TODAY IS NATIONAL CREAM FILLED DONUT DAY!
Every Sunday Matteo and I have a donut at the local 7/11 store near the church where my daughters hear mass. Matteo is still too young to attend mass so I drive his mom and aunt to church in the morning and baby sit him during the mass. That's when we scoot over to 7/11. My wife and I then hear mass in the evening. Unfortunately, he doesn't care much for cream-filled donuts. He just loves the strawberry filled donut more than anything in the store although I prefer the Bavarian cream.
Today, Sunday, we again celebrated donut day, one strawberry filled and one Bavarian cream filled. This is one day in the week we really look forward to.
Donut and Sunday Mass go together. Most churches around have a coffee and donut social after Sunday Mass. A lot of the churches either have a kids/family Mass or a quite room in the church. The quite room is sound proof with a glass wall. The speakers allow parent whose kids are crying to ltake care of their kids and still hear and see the Mass, without disrupting the whole church.

Cool. Only in America can they think of this kind of room. It's so practical. We gave up on taking Matteo to mass because he wants to walk around and make a lot of noise. The one looking after him (that's me most of the time) just can't concentrate on the mass anymore. So we decided to split. The girls in the morning and us in the evening.
That is great that you came up with a solution. I really like that it gives you time with Mattao to share a donut. My son fondly remembers eating Happy Meals with his Grandfather from when he was little.
