This poem can apply to so many things. To people we don't want to look at because we're afraid what we'll see (such as beggars, often), or people we don't want to see us looking at them (people who dislike us), or people we want to look at, and who want to look at us, but we don't want to look at one another at the same time or to admit we want to keep looking.

Which is what I feel this piece is about.

And the masks we wear end up being our true faces. What a risky game it is, to play games.
