THE AFRICAN CHILD
THE AFRICAN CHILD
my head aches from the loads of complaints against me
i wish i was never born
being one of seven is really a heavy tax for me
i wish they never saw me
She wrapped me with white linens to brighten me up
her arms so tender and mild
Took me to the ancient times to witness her conquest
her love as hard as crystal
Rejected by my own
So little, dirty, battered and shattered
i never gave in
i will never give in
oh! my child
you've really come a long way
faint not
you've really got a bright future.
Very lovely poem and paintings @gabriel-benny.
Thank you alot
