Living each day wrestling shame
Drowning in tears like unending rain
What could make us smile again?
Lips saying "fine" but hearts not the same
Losing count on the scars that remain
Life seeming like an insurmountable game

Struggling through life's rugged terrain
The going getting tougher by every lane
With sorrow, our hearts are set aflame
What could make us smile again?
Troubles way us down like severe migraine
Our minds' eye search for joys to reclaim
Frustration makes us wild like beasts untamed
Oh, what could ever make us smile again?...
