My Joy (Original Poem)
I watch her while she sleeps
Peaceful
Knowing she is loved
Knowing she is special
I tell her everyday
Her hand moves to scratch her nose
I remember she is mine
Nine months of us as one
A hope of many years side by side
Her chest rises up
And I breathe out
She is whole
I am blessed
I tuck the blanket under her chin
Press my hand on her shoulder
This is my child
This is my hope
This is my joy
