Dad's Day ---> Forgiveness & Love!
Dad's Day
When I gaze at this photo I think of how much I love my dad! We all have our own story about family and many people want to blame others for things they may not have in life. They say kids always blame their parents.
A long time ago I chose to look at the positive things in life and try to appreciate the good. Not to blame others for my own life lessons. We all have them, and either learn and grow or remain stuck.
Most of my life I did not have this guy in my life as he was off exploring the world and being independent. We made up years later and what I would like to always feel about the man that helped Create me is that love and forgiveness are two very powerful aspects to our soul. These life lessons bring peace and happiness to the most unhappiest of situations.
I choose to remember:
Being held in
your arms
while you fed me
with a
bottle, and
held me while
I cried.
Smiling down
at me
from my crib,
giving me a pacifier
to soothe
my sadness.
Taking a photo
together
on the top of
that
roof on
Bacon Street.
Your Afro,
Santana t-shirt,
jeans, and
a
cigarette.
Holding your hand
walking
down
the streets of
Tokyo.
Buying me
a
silk Bomber
jacket with
my name
embroidered
in Seoul.
Flying over
Kuai
in a
helicopter,
as I
grabbed your
neck
in
sheer
terror.
Making each
other laugh
as we
walked
the
National Mall
in
Washington, DC.
Dad,
you are
forever
forgiven,
and loved
by
your baby
girl.
Happy Father's Day!
Greetings,
Thank you for stopping by to read my blog. I’m a First Nation member of the Hopi & Apache Native American tribes, Medicine woman in-training, first time blogger since November 2017, (right here on Steemit), paralegal, researcher, and writer based in the Mountains of Colorado, USA. I work closely with fellow planktons and minnows in a few groups by helping them adjust to Steemit and curate quality content. I’m especially interested in finding others who love natural medicine originating from ancient practices, gold and silver, energy work, and the spirit world. Additionally, I'm the creator of #MedicineCardMonday, so if you are interested in receiving a Native American blessing stop by my blog every Monday, or just say hello!
See you soon, @eaglespirit
