Applauding a spiritual man
Here he comes as always
His gait is smooth, eyes unwavering, attention fixed on the holy book
seeking to fulfill all of it's commandments, regardless of whether he is right or wrong
He is ready for the show which has become a mere rehearsal.
What do you expect, he does it everyday.
He is the pride of his pastor and congregation but not of his family and friends
The never fading smile that plasters his face suggest a calm
Who could in all these see the turbulence that lies deep within
As always, he addresses everyone with a unique gentleness
You could easily be fooled if you didn't know that he is the legendary spiritual brother.
He never sees himself in the wrong
No! He has assumed a position that makes him wiser than others
His principles are carefully intertwined in the book of the law and largely in his rigid opinions
Read proverbs so that you can be wise he chants always
Who could rescue this brother from his own unruly self?
His opinion is always right
Does he ever make mistakes? Not to him
His shortcomings are always pointed out by your carnally-tainted perspective
So selfish are his actions most times
But our dear spiritual brother is much too deep in the spirit to notice.
Though not naira-loaded, he is holyghost filled, and many a sister is willing to make him her crown. Sister Ruth won him through intense prayers, fasting and delicious takeaways.
How does he hope to treat her when they finally have a roof over their head?
Of course! Discipline is the word.
To gain respect, a war definitely has to be fought
Bring her down to her knees till she declares him the lord of her life.
Oh! Dear spiritual brother, for how long will your spirituality get the better of you?
Completely blinded by misinterpreted verses
He seeks to make of men foes
All in the name of cleansing himself of all filth
He does not see his faults until the very end
But alas, the deed has been done
Alone would he live in his old age.
