Poem "We're Together Everday"

We're Together everyday now
I use to hate it when he left
He finally stays with me everyday
Not whole
There is no completeness in this
We never came to the conclusion that he should go or stay
It just fell into place this way
Now here he is
Every God forsaken day
There's no laughter no joy
The sound of wedding bells echo in the distance
Not for us
The sound of crying babies fill the silence
Not ours
Still he's here for what it's worth
Not much
with this look that pierces my soul
Not warm
I wanted him to be with me everyday
Not today
Here he is tho
Not in my Arms
Reflecting from the shattered pieces of my broken heart
Here he is
Everyday
Not enough
Not like this
Not open
The wound
The Heart
The Casket
....Please Just close it.

This was a reflective poem parts of which I revised, and other parts I wrote at age 16 when my boyfriend was murdered, after going to his open casket funeral, his hands were bruised from fighting for his life. My heart was torn apart.
We were very close, he was 19 at the time of his death.
