Getting back into writing

I remember I used to love capturing my emotions in words - it was almost therapeutic and I used to write a few times every week. Over the last few years, however, I felt like life has come to a dull stop and I have not written a single line. This is my attempt at trying to get back into the swing of things. 

A reflection of where I am at this point in time:

The last few years of life
have been
lived in a sleepy haze
that never quite faded away.

As the smoke begins to clear
It becomes apparent
That a lack of emotion
Has dried up the word flow
Leaving no rivers to supply the ocean

And everyone is talking but I can't hear
Over the internal mind chatter,

It doesn't really matter.
