What If Series (Stanza 1)

I have failed many a time

Enjoying solace from the several setbacks

Lanced up my fatigued, tired hands.

Failing, now so frequent;

Hands akimbo,

Indecisive.

Should I continue the works of labour

Despite the obvious endpoint of failure,

Or simply put a puff

At the fading fires...?

Should I press on to life

Despite the many what-if's

Or give up on trying

And sob on my tattered sofa?

What if I don't fail this time?

What if I actually fail?

Of which is better-

To live in the sacred delusion

Of perpetual self limitations

Or simply give another try at succeeding

What if...?
