When batteries die.

It's beautiful tonight,
although the sky is turning white,
as a lone sun beam flashes
through the trees from the west,
so bright.

Diego is splayed on the front lawn,
where I intended to mow today,
but the battery was dead,
and I will put it on the slow charger
for another day, for the dandelions,
soon to be forlorn,
but all asleep for now.

The dandelions saved by one more day.
Yes, the dandelions now make up my lawn,
in the woods, inside a metropolis.

How they have grown and taken over,
and I let them, but I have seen no bees this season,
or even the bees knees.

So, we all live to see another day.

Diego, me, the dandelions and the invisible bees.
