'You Linger ... Still' (a Poem)
I am continuing to compose short poems that may or may not appear in my second anthology, and I am enjoying every second of it, regardless of what form these poems will eventually take! Here is a draft called ‘You Linger – Still.’ ❤
You linger – still –
In the half-forgotten world
Of memory, myth-making, magic.
You are balanced – still –
On the edges of
Bridges not yet built.
In rushing lines
Of traffic
The clicks and taps
Of impassioned argument
Of shouts that melt
Into roaring cacophony
In hopes and dreams
Not yet formed
And visions
Unsteady on their feet
You stand – still.
Short, but lots to take in. I've made several attempts to decode the world and who you are referencing. Interesting!
