Sleepless Dreams

My soul years to feel the unknown love,
familiar in my dreams alone.
I am drawn by the soothing love
of someone upon whom I have laid only closed eyes.

In my dreams
I see perfectly,
I know you.

I sleep to dream about you,
lost in time;
engulfed by fantasy;
embracing the unknown;
and when I wake
I seek your eyes
in a sea of unfamiliar faces.

But all I am given is a sleepless dream...
about a familiar stranger.
