<시> 물 없이 자라는 나무 A tree growing without water (English included)

그는 나무에게 물을 주지 않는다.
그렇다고 나무를 밖에다 놓고, 빗물이 그 나무의 갈증을 적시도록 해준 것도 아니다.
그저 사무실에 옭아매어 우리들의 숨과 땀에 의존하게 한 것이다.
그러나 그는 나무가 산소를 뿜어내지 못한다고 혹은 습기를 제대로 맞추지 못한다고 나무란다.

그러는 사이에 그 나무는 속으로부터 썪어들어간다.
그의 아픈 마음을 감추기 위해 겉으로는 푸른 잎을 내보이고, 우리가 숨을 쉬도록 일을 한다.
나무는 본래 천천히 서서히 숨을 생명으로 바꾸는 것인데,
그는 나무의 본성을 무시한 채 채찍질만을 가하는 것이다.

결국 그 나무는 속부터 밖으로 썪어져나와 잎과 가지가 모두 말라버린다.
그는 못쓰게 되었다고 나무를 발로 툭툭 차고는 쓰레기통에 넣어버린다.
우리는 나무의 부재로 숨이 막히고, 코끝이 찡해진다.
그리고 그 자리에 그가 새로 사 온 나무가 덩그러니 서 있다.

S/he does not give the tree water.
Nor put the tree out and let it soaked with rain drop.
Just stick it in the office, making it dependent on our breath and sweat.
However S/he condemns the tree that it does not release enough oxygen or keep the right humidity.

Meanwhile, the tree is rotting from inside.
It tries to hide its hurtful heart so camouflages itself with green leaves and it keeps working so that we can breathe.
Trees are supposed to transform the breath into the life slowly and gradually,
S/he just ignores the trait of the tree and keeps whipping on the tree.

At the end, the tree has been rotting from inside to outside, leaves and branches are dried out.
S/he kicks the tree, saying that it is not useful anymore and dumped the tree.
We have a hard time breathing without the tree, and look down in the sorrow.
On the spot stands another tree bought newly.
