An Orange Ring - Nicole Ifurung (2016)
Another poem by my daughter.
A fire dances across my skin,
A blaze with teary eyes and scarlet wings.
It devours the land, low and high,
The innocent, targeted by its evil eye.
What can I do, but cry in pain,
For all I long for is the numbing rain.
The clouds envelop my scorching skin,
To leave behind,
An orange ring.
