Our Mother's City

In the serene sound of the crowded city,
To the freshest breeze that touches me.
Everywhere I look lives in a hawkishless harmony,
It was then I thought, "It is the world she wanted us to see."

Why do we close our eyes to the tall green and sturdy buildings?
Those that feeds, accommodates and cultivates our surroundings,
Our native air conditioner in times of oxygen famine,
A dweller that once our savior when we have nothing.

Why do we close our eyes to the azure wavy plain?
Those tiles of crystal mirror that is rich within,
The Sapphire meadow which became our landfill,
A provider that once our pit stop when we travel distant realm.

Why do we close our eyes to those hill of leviathans,
And dug its heart not knowing that wealth isn't within?
Those sleeping giants that serves as home of various beings,
Are precious treasures that needs eternal safekeeping.

She seeks our attention but we tend to neglect this.
She ask silent question but we answer it with loud destruction,
She wanted us to open our eyes and look how beautiful she is,
Yes, indeed we open it but we lost our vision.

Her city is filled with live transportation tweeting and hooting everytime,
Also with calm rustles of leaves on buildings with unique architectural design.
The crystal-clear drainage along the green highway,
The paradise of beatitude --nothing to dismay.

With my arms spread looking our mother's beauty,
Under the serene sound of her crowded city,
Watching every creature synchronized the beats of harmony,
It is then I thought, "What a wonderful day in the city."
