Unsung Heroes
If a pen and paper could change the world
I could be on my way to joining your favorites
I write to express what’s inside
While hoping I could touch a soul or two in the process
You want to change the world?
Practice and patience
Change those around you and they’ll change those around them
One poem at a time
Touch those around you and they’ll touch those around them
The TV screens can never change the world for the better
Maya wrote
Martin marched
Hendrik fought
I wrote and I will continue to write until I’m no more
TV screens can never change the world
A figment of imagination paints a temporary picture
A pen and paper might not change the whole world
But if it manages to change those around you
You are a hero
Maybe not the ones praised in the streets and history books
But you are a hero
A pen and paper might not end wars
But it surely does touch the few souls that devours whatever it produced
A pen and paper might not cure cancer
But it could give the dying a perfect goodbye
A pen and paper might not dry your tears
But it can change that frown into a smile
A pen and paper might not get the credit it deserves
But not all superheroes wear capes.

But it limits your understanding
Let your mind widen a hectare
Read beyond the lines"
