Days for sipping [Day 50]
Days for sipping
Some days
are languid tisanes,
fine-ground;
brewed in a mason jar.
Since I do not have a sieve,
I wait in between
agitations
for the sediment to settle.
Frothless,
careful, pouring with a cloth barrier.
Some days
patience must be conjured,
to avoid a scalded tongue.
I sit and wait
for the cup to cool.
Some days
mustn't be gulped,
but only sipped.

I tend to gulp most of mine like high-caffeine energy drinks ;) It's always nice to have ones that are not only slow, but feel meaningfully slow - as in not wasted despite their pace.
This piece expresses it in just the right way. The lines sliding over each other they are so languid, each carefully savoured before moving on to the next. Form and subject in perfect harmony!
A common question asked by Taoists is do you have the patience to wait for your tea to boil or in your case to cool. Patience is over-rated, however, it means you are not in the present moment. The tea is beautiful; admire it for its color and its smell. for its heat if it is a cold day, or simply clear the mind and think of nothing.
Your poem is zen-ful. Thank you:)
Love love love I've missed your poems!!! I love this one I can always count on you to give me inspiration to write , happy day!❤️
It's quite narrative, I love the sifting process how it was thoroughly explained in a poetic manner, it's a free verse, sweetly irregular in the stanzaic arrangements, it's beautiful buddy. It's been a while
And here I thought your metaphor was coffee until the pictures told me it was tea ;)
Yes @d-pend. I'm not going to gulp that contraption. Right now I would like a sip. Did you get a sore throat?
Good peom
blowfish and manatees
Hello @d-pend, how are you?
Your poem never changes, it always produces beautiful works. Your soul is already integrated with the words of poetry, so that every word you write, can always penetrate into the souls of those who read it. Hope you have a wonderful day... :)

Don't overuse that word you might end up inside a painting.
^_^
It is a good thing I actually found some self related metaphors even if your idea maybe was not to be metaphoric here, but all in all I appreciate the design and words next to each other.
Short and beautiful!
