Obviously there is such a thing as mania, where you are no longer really playing out of a desire to play but rather as an escape from the pain or displeasure of doing something you don't want.
I know when I start cleaning up the corners of my rooms there is something I don't want to do.
Playing...or cleaning....actually my partner is like you, there are all kinds of distractions that look positive on the surface
