The Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) originally stood up under the name Indische Sociaal Democratische Vereeniging (ISDV) founded by Henk Sneevliet. This organization is a combination of the Dutch Socialist Party with SDAP which then united under the name of the Communist SDP, which consists of 85 socialists in the Dutch East Indies. This establishment was carried out in 1914 before Indonesia made preparations for independence because there was no history of BPUPKI, the history of PPKI, and the history of the formulation of the 1945 Constitution.

When Indonesia wanted to be independent but had not made sufficient preparations to achieve it, the ISDV came as a party to educate the natives. Their aim is to awaken the spirit of nationalism and become an independent soul on their own feet. They taught the Indonesians to free themselves from the shackles of colonialism which then entered the Dutch colonial period in Indonesia. The idea used to educate is the idea of Marxism.

In the early years of ISDV, of the 100 members, only 3 were indigenous Indonesians. It was in 1915 when ISDV still placed its office in the city of Surabaya and after its establishment in its Port a year ago.
The party began to expand when its headquarters moved to Semarang, Central Java. There they got more indigenous cadres as the Dutch socialist ISDV wanted. These natives came from religious to nationalist. They did not immediately demand Indonesian independence.
How dare Sneevliet lead unceremoniously. After getting a lot of indigenous cadres, Sneevliet expressed his openness to the Dutch SDAP. The man also unashamedly expressed his disapproval of joining the Volksraad-a Council of the Indies Society.
In recent months the issue of the revival of the PKI again blew, many of the events that have occurred so far are connected with the PKI, such as the bombardment of scholars who occurred in various parts of Indonesia conducted by crazy people.
