The Washington Monument

One of the perks of working at the American History Museum in Washington, DC is that I get to walk pass the Washington Monument every time I go to work. I could take a hundred pics of this monument and they will all come out looking different and having a different feel to them. I also feel humbled at the fact that monuments like this is “right around the corner” from me and I often take it for granted whereas I often walk by tourists who are wowed to finally be seeing it in person. I guess the saying, “stop and smell the roses” can also be applied to not taking the small wonders in your own backyard for granted.
