The wonder of technology still astounds, still beggars belief. Jerry has been alive through human historys most accelerated techno advancement, he was alive before the colored t.v was invented, before the mobile phone. He was alive when all the devices we have and use and take for granted today, were not even invented in the human imagination, and then when they only existed in works of sci-fi and comic books, and right through til their eventual invention.

Even with all these advancements, all these inventions that have made the human experience easier and more bearable. Jerry can't help but feel that we have in some ways gone backwards, that on our tech journey we have lost a little something, or maybe even a big something.

Jerry remembers when neighbourhoods were filled with the sounds of children playing, learning and interacting, not just with their own generation, but the ones that came before and the ones that would follow. Now, all he sees is empty streets and bowed heads with empty stares, angled towards little devices that he can't understand and wouldnt care to even if he could.

We lost something he thinks to himself, something huge and something we my never be able to regain " We've lost ourselves".

In a way Jerry is right.
Thanks for joining pic1000.

I think every generation probably feels something similar to this, as their time passes and a new one is ushered in. Thanks for the prompt.
