Photo of the Day: cognac Courvoisier
Hi everyone! We continue to break traditions. Today, instead of black and white pictures will be the result of my next experiment in shooting alcohol. As you, friends, remember, I have new glasses for photography, and one of them is specially designed for cognac. It has an incredibly elegant shape and I like it very much, so I want to apply it in some project. Let's go!
I successfully had a bottle of Courvoisier cognac at my hand, which could not be shooted as I wanted because of the previous shooting last weekend. Since I'm just learning, gradually mastering this direction step by step, to repeat what is already so it turns out, I did not want to, so I had to come up with something new. The inspiration I had to look on the websites pinterest.com and on Yandex.Pictures. There is so much of it that you do not know what to take in the first place, because you like almost everything. Nevertheless, the necessary reference was found and I began to prepare.
As usual, we need to remove the back sticker, because the bottles are usually shooted on a gleam, and it interferes with the passage of light. The label was removed quite easily with a damp cloth. But with the excise stamp had to work: the glue can be removed only with a cotton swab and sunflower oil. Then, using a cloth made of microfiber carefully wipe the bottle, otherwise any dirt on the glass in the light of flashes will be very noticeable.
In the background, put the flash with a snoot and adjust its position and power for a few shots. On the left and right sides put frost-frame with a stretched diffusing film. Our task is to obtain a linear gradient and, as a consequence, a beautiful glare, as well as label lighting. To do this, put the left flash with a vertical strip box at an angle to the far edge of the diffuser, and the right - parallel to the diffuser in the center. Then do a few shots and custom power sources, as well as their position.
But this time I wanted to do something really unusual. With strong drinks it is customary to smoke cigars and I thought that it would be appropriate here. But just to put it in the frame is not wanted. I had to show the smoldering tobacco inside. To do this, it was necessary to completely darken the room and make the final frame with a long exposure. The flash draws the whole scene, and long exposure - a smoldering cigar. Then process the picture in Photoshop. And that's what happened.
