Mary Lake and Cathedral Mountain
Last week we spent an amazing four days exploring and camping in the Lake O’Hara region with my little family and some friends. The area is restricted via a lottery style booking system to minimise impact. Having spent two decades exploring over six continents it is rare to see such accessible pristine wilderness. If you ever get the chance to visit the area take it. We hiked as hard as we could including a couple of night hikes given the time restrictions in the area. I will try not to take the usual three months to get my shots up from this trip (they might skip ahead of the backlog). This shot was taken looking across Mary Lake at 2043m (6704 ft) to Cathedral Mountain at 3,189m (10462 ft). Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Canada

Wow that picture is so breathtaking and beautiful! Did you get to see many wildlife there too? Are you able to swim in the waters? Im so jellyfishing right now that you see the world like this.🧡
Yes we saw lots of wildlife (goats, marmots, squirrels, pika, chipmunks). It is a beautiful world.

Wonderful!! I don't have words, congratulations!!
Thanks.
That lottery style booking system to reduce impact sounds like a really good idea. And looks like it works pretty well for that place, maybe more places should do it XD That reflection!
Yes. It works well for those that get thought ! It is the only way to minimize impact to such a fragile area which has such high demand.
Resteemed!
Wow thanks again !
Beautiful shot!
I was trying to book the shuttle for September but no luck. Guess I’ll have to wait till next year.
