Alcornoque - Quercus suber - Cork Tree.
This tree is literally outside the house I live in, near a spot where we play frisbee with my friends. I always show this tree to everyone that is visiting for the first time, I feel like it is different and unique and deserves a mention :)
Needless to say, it is not native from Uruguay at all, but this one looks like it adapted very well to our climate. I just wonder how old it is. Any clues?
The cork oak, is a medium-sized, evergreen oak tree in the section Quercus sect. Cerris. It is the primary source of cork for wine bottle stoppers and other uses, such as cork flooring and as the cores of cricket balls. It is native to southwest Europe and northwest Africa. (Wikipedia)

That is some old tree texture looks quite weird :D
Looks like a massive wine bottle cork.
nature always transmits charm and tranquility
That looks like old paper, especially in the first pic
It has a weird texture which I really like.
Lo que más me gusta del árbol es que está en el lugar donde lanzas frisbees 😄 💙
to determine the age of a tree they take a little core sample and count the rings
