Love for traveling part 3: Stare Duće (Old vilage near Omiš in Croatia)
This is a story about little and abandoned village called "Stare Duće".
Abandoned because of tourism, all of the previous tenants went to new Duće (closer to Adriatic sea), and some in foreign countries looking for work.
The village itself is located near small town Omiš, at the mountain and national park "Biakova".
Although the village is not far from Adriatic sea it has steeply and rocky terrain.
The pictures were taken in the year 2007 and vas made with Nokia n95. :)
Starting to climb. Adriatic sea and village new Duće, across the sea you can see island Brač
View of town Dugi Rat
One of the last tenants
I was a bit scared until he smiled for the camera
Famous stone quarry on Brač
Entrance to village
Cave near village for keeping sheeps and other domestic animals safe from wolfs
Long way down if you make mistake
But view is amazing
It is so steep the heart starts to race joust from looking down
Whole willage
Olive oil press. Base stone
Unmovabole stone bench caled "sopa"
And sunset that can take your breath away
I hope you enjoyed this episode.
And now I don't have old material left so I will soon need to hit the road and visit some places.

Beautiful area! I love the photos of the "tenant." I have a soft spot for dogs. :)

Beautiful Post @zelenicic
Thank you. I'm still evolving my type of writing and photography
Wow that is awesome @zelenicic and you took them 7 years ago. How high up is that? The views are beautiful, how people lived there must have been very interesting. :)
This was actually settlement of pirates. I'll write about they hometown Omiš (I hope soon) and why they became pirates. Don't know how high settlement is but highest peak "Sveti Jure" is 1762 m. The settlement is aprox 1/3 of that
Too bad. And at the same time, they tell us about overpopulation and how we need to move on Mars. Funny.
Manny people from Croatia and Bosnia & Hercegovina left because of economics. I think this was the case with this settlement (but many years ago).
It's also happening now. In Slovenia too. That's why I'm in Canada now.
It is a sad thing. But now we have steemit to change things around. I have cousins in Maribor.
