"This photo is about letting go of life that may no longer work for you while giving yourself room for hope and resilience in a new chapter.Sometimes the only way to move forward is through letting go of the past, regardless of how painful the past that.
When this photo was taken, I was going through a very tense and hard period in my life. Therefore, this photo represents peace in burning the chapter which gives space for the resilience needed to turn my life into a lighter and brighter road.
This photo is a concept that had been in my mind for almost a year but I was having trouble finding the right location. In the fall of 2014, at the end of a four-month North American journey / workshop, we stopped in northern New York. When I arrived, I saw a fire pit with a beautiful ash on warm summer evenings around the fire. I immediately made arrangements to finally create my phoenix. I asked a photographer friend if he objected to being a model, I grabbed the ladder to get perspective from above, and immediately did it! It turned out to be exactly what I imagined and the therapeutic process of making made me feel lighter and ready to move forward."

"This photo was created as part of a photo project I started last year, called 'Project Alphabet.' Each successive week of the project focused on the new letter, with 'The Catch' that uses the letter B, as in 'Balloon (Balloon)', which is an inspiration for his photograph.With each passing week, I choose a new word that matches the letters of the alphabet, and forms the story in it.
'Catch' highlights what it means to hold on to your dreams and enable it to lift you up to the skies. One of my core beliefs is that you will never find your vocation without simply choosing and trying things. So many of us, myself included, would rather wait for our vocation to find our self ... but the key to figuring out your passions in life can not be more than the other way around. This picture shows what it means to choose and hold on to your dreams, no matter how mysterious the dream may seem, and allow it to take you to the skies."

"When I decided to take this photo, it was a period of my life when I was under great pressure.At the same time - growing up with social media - I was constantly confronted with photos of people living in their perfect-looking lives , I feel like I'm doing something wrong.
Therefore, the only way to overcome this emotion is to create a work of art on how I imagine the 'perfect life' that can be felt.
If I can describe my photo in one word, it is freedom. I feel very relieved after taking this photo. This photo makes me feel overwhelmed with emotion and joy because all my sadness, thoughts and struggles seem to fade just for now."
