Night Photography Series #8: Vast & deserted plain

in #photography6 years ago

In todays episode I used a little more editing than last episode. For me it's a lot of fun to explore and experiment with the different available functions.
The photos were taken in a desert like area on one of our stops for the night driving to Moguer, Spain. As the area was so deserted, I used our car and my cup as models.

The first picture shows our van in this vast plain.
I edited the photo, so that the surroundings and sky are only black a white (which they almost were anyway because it was so dark already) and turned up the saturation of the van a little.

In the second photo, you can see some plants scattered over the ground.
Here I tunrned the sky to black and white, which I think is hard to notice at first glance. I find this to be a quite interesting effect, because you feel something is odd and you have to look twice to see it.

In the third picture, I set the focus on my small cup, which stands in this barren land all alone. With the night sky abov it, it almost seems lost and out of place.
