Revisiting my favourite abandoned place - Requiem for a place that died twice
Maybe you have seen my first post here on steemit about a pretty cool abandoned train yard that resulted in some of my favourite pictures I've ever taken. It's been only a couple months and in fact the first trip with my then-new Sony Alpha 6000 but I've always wanted to return simply because it was a beautiful place.
Yesterday a good friend asked for photo spots not everyone has already taken a million pictures of. Today I went to revisit this one to see if it was still accessible because it had to be the greatest spot within a hundred mile radius. Well, I guess it was accessible just fine, but I'm still not happy.
This is how it looks in January 2018, another hidden gem of the photography world irreversibly gone, reduced to a pile of rubble that will soon disappear under a new house that can never rival its calm, hidden beauty.
Goodbye my friend, we only met once but I liked you immediately and I'm going to miss you. Wish I visited you more often when we still had the chance.
I would also like to say some words to the train company, but I don't want to waste one of my post tags on nsfw.
I'm slightly pissed, can you tell?

Thanks for reading!
Sad to see things change, but it happens all the time.
That's true, I just wish it could have stayed a little longer because it was a great place. Thanks for reading!
