A Nepalese man reads the paper on a grassy area in the city of Pokhara.
November, 2016. I have always loved this photo; the contrast of the man being alone and tranquil amidst the crowds and noise of the busy city. Also, who is the second chair for? Does he usually have a companion that was not there today? I watched this man read for about an hour as I wandered around. He seemed so focused yet so relaxed - never once looking up from his paper. I appreciate the fact that he was reading from an actual printed newspaper and not using a tablet, smartphone, or other electronic device. He was thoroughly in the moment and not distracted by modern technology like many of us are today.
