A tip for you to maybe get little more exposure: Credit your pictures. Especially when it is your own, just write underneath something like "taken by me in front of our house". One of the few articles where I tried to credit all embedded videos and pictures was my "Why I don't watch TV" piece. It got picked up by the curating trail @curie , which was really great!

There are a lot of these "curation trails" on Steemit. Often they try to support new blogs from fresh users. But a criteria many of them share: You have to credit all content on your post, if it is not your own. I think when you also credit your own it helps to avoid confusion.
