High perennial herbaceous plants up to 3 m in height, form dense turf (hummocks). Leaves are rough, evergreen, long and thin, 1-2 m long and 1 cm wide, with very sharp tips (so they should be taken carefully). Leaves are usually bluish-green, but can be silvery-gray. The flowers are collected in thick white, silvery-white or, rarely, yellowish, reddish or purple shades of 20-40 cm long on a peduncle with a height of 2-3 m. Spikelets that make up a sweep, consist of 3-7 flowers and reach 15-18 mm Length. Flowering from August to November.
