🍄#FungiFriday

Friday is ... a day for mushrooms 🍄...
I came across some photos, from last May ... they were taken by phone so it's not some picture quality.
But they were interesting to me, so I decided to set them up anyway.
And of course I dedicate this post to the #FungiFriday fun challenge by @ewkaw😊

Under appropriate conditions, the spores of some fungi can be dormant for centuries and be fertile again after so long.
Mushrooms are reusable, not just as food and medicine. Some fungi are used for bioremediation, to absorb and process hazardous and toxic substances such as oils, pesticides and industrial wastes, where such substances pose a major environmental hazard. Mushrooms can be used as a food source by various other types of microorganisms - some bacteria such as Echerichia coli.
Many fungi grow in sunlight, following the sun the same as plants. Unlike plants, scientists have not yet discovered how mushrooms use sunlight....

....
The Mycena mushroom family contains more than 70 species of fungi that glow in the dark. These fungi produce light by a chemical reaction called bioluminescence. In the past, people used to light their way through the forest using stumps overgrown with these tiny glowing fungi.
Long before the trees inhabited Earth's soil, the Earth was covered with giant mushrooms. Proof of this is the fossil of the Prototaxites organism (8m high and 1m wide), which has been a true enigma for scientists for the entire 150 years since it was discovered in 1859 by a Canadian in Saudi Arabia.
Psathyrella aquatica is a fungus that completely lives underwater....

..Some mushrooms from the forest and some from my lawn ...
I read some more interesting things about mushrooms and decided to share them with you! I didn't even know how spread they were around the country and how many species there were ...
Thank you for visiting my blog😊
I wish you a nice day!☀️🍄

Thanks for participating, happy Fungi Friday!

Yes they are, it's in front of my house. There used to be a tree but it was cut down and the roots of the tree started to rot. And there are mushrooms on all sides ..🍄😊
