Just me and nature

The path leads into the sunshine and so I follow it. I've been walking for several miles and feeling in an almost meditative state.

I breathe. Listen to the birds. To the grasses rustling in the breeze. Softly softly.

Gravel underfoot. Keeps me steady above the wetlands below.

Wild horses in the distance. Doing their job in controlling the environment, whilst naturally sensitive to the rare breed foliage.

Buzzards overhead. Patrolling the skies. Keeping beady eyes on the mice that skirt between the fauna.

My feet walk on and on. In a rhythm that doesn't want to end. There's a road in the short distance where civilisation restarts. Cars and tractors. But there's none of that mechanisation here. It's just me and nature.

Breathe, step, breathe, step, on and on.
