Interesting facts about the Nosuhi (koati)

Nosuhi are the closest relatives of raccoons.
The main distinguishing feature of coats from all the relatives is their long nose.
The animals live in families of 10 to 20 individuals, sometimes families with up to 40 individuals are found.
Koati are omnivorous, but they prefer meat food more.
Animals can communicate with each other, they are capable of producing a variety of sounds.
Nosuhi at home get along well with a man.
Sometimes coats raid agricultural land, harming field crops and stealing small poultry.
Males who have reached the age of two, are expelled from the pack, in order to avoid related crossbreeding.
In one offspring, from 2 to 6 cubs are born at the noses.
The noses live in the wild on average from 7 to 8 years, in captivity animals often live up to 20 years.
