RE: Perfect Carrot Cake Cupcakes + Coconut Cream Cheese Frosting - FOOD PHOTO SHOOT
Those little carrots made of icing are so cute.
Usually, necessity or convenience is the mother of invention. I remember reading up on the history of central Florida when I taught local History to my elementary school students, during my first of only two years as a public school teacher. It turns out, the early European inhabitants of central Florida were used to drinking coffee up north, but had none available to them in Florida. So, to get the taste, if not the buzz, they would dry some of the sweet potatoes they grew, grind them to fine grounds, and filter the grounds to brew just like regular coffee.
Imagine that. Sweet potato coffee. I can only imagine what it tasted like.
mmm, sweet potato coffee, that sounds like a revival is necessary
