End Of The Line
Once I was a proud train running up and down the country, travelling mile after mile puffing out the smoke as I pulled the carriages to there next destination. Running through the rain and snow never complaining. As my driver and fireman kept my boiler stoked and my water tank full and I am always trying to run on time. But times have changed people did not want to travel with me anymore, they said I was not fast enough I was outdated and new faster shiny trains were coming to take my place. I was going to be retired they said left to stand idle my boiler going cold my wheels turning no more left out in the cold and wet to stand there with streaks from the water that falls on me running down my boiler like tears of sadness, as I stand there, just waiting, waiting for the day when I will be restored to my earlier glory hoping to pull the carriages once more, the journey may not be long as before but I am old some would call me classic or antique from a bygone era, but I will be able to put smile on peoples faces as I steam along and reminisce about the old days.
Nice shot!
Lovely shot of an old engine and an emotional story to go with it.
We need more of the old treasures back in service, just like the Harry Potter train on the West Coast of Scotland
