Red Spider Nebula
On this image, huge waves of a two-bladed nebula are imprinted, located at a distance of about 3000 light-years from the Earth in the constellation of Sagittarius. This planetary nebula consists of the hottest known stars. Its powerful stellar winds produce waves that are 100 billion kilometers in height. Waves caused by supersonic shocks are formed when the local gas is compressed and rapidly heated.
