Final Concorde Landings at Heathrow Airport 24/10/2003 (Photographs)

There aren't too many significant events that I've seen in my life but one I will put my name against is the final landing of 3 Concorde aircraft on the 24th October 2003. At that time I was working for an Airline Services company whose head office was on the final approach into one of the runways at Heathrow.

Here are scans of a few photographs taken on that day.

These were taken on my first SLR camera which was a reasonably cheap Pentax model if I recall correctly. Being a bit of a nerd I was always excited when Concorde came over - thankfully I got to experience it most days. The noise was immense and I recall being rather concerned the first time it went over as I wasn't expecting it and nobody warned me about the noise. It sounded like it was going to come down on the building and mugs would literally bounce along the desks. Car alarms would also be set off.

Great times and an impressive machine.
