Tales from the blood moon - Pictures from the recent Lunar Eclipse !!!
Hello my friends,
last friday night my girlfriend Tina and I went out to see and take some pictures of the recent bloody lunar eclipse here in the Black Forest in the South of Germany.
During a total lunar eclipse, Earth completely blocks direct sunlight from reaching the Moon. The only light reflected from the lunar surface has been refracted by Earth's atmosphere.
This light appears reddish for the same reason that a sunset or sunrise does: the Rayleigh scattering of bluer light. Due to this reddish color, a totally eclipsed Moon is sometimes called a blood moon.
This was the longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century.
The total phase of the "blood moon" eclipse of July 27 lasts 1 hour and 43 minutes, during which Earth's natural satellite will turn a spectacular red or ruddy-brown color. From start to finish, the entire celestial event will last nearly 4 hours.
The eclipse was not visible to viewers in North America. But observers in much of Africa, the Middle East, southern Asia and the Indian Ocean region.
July's total lunar eclipse occurs on the same day the planet Mars reaches its opposition, when it will shine at its best in the night sky. This month, Mars will be at its closest to Earth since 2003. After opposition, when Mars will be brightest, it will reach that closest point on July 31.
Have an awesome sunday and go outside and enjoy nature if you can :-)
My intention is to deliver high quality footage and therefore I carefully select all photos, video sequences and music to portray the beautiful visited places, as I would like to preserve them in my memory.

Very nice pics, since I know myself how hard it is to shoot the moon, so many over/underexposed shots... I like your overall mood with other photos, it kind of gives one an idea of your mindset.
wouldn't it be great if it was possible to include some background music with the post itself, just a thoughtyou click some great picture.
Beautiful shots!
I Love the one where you can see the light bending around the eclipse
When "she bends in ecstasy"
Thanks @sniffbiff
We didn't even have a chance in this hemisphere
Thanks a lot! Sad that you could't see it, but here due to clouds not everywhere it was visible 🙂
Thanks to you, I got a pretty sweet view of it right here from my desk :)
Keep up the good shots!
Wicked Blood #Moon btw...
