"Hejnal Mariacki"
Here is a photo of a trumpeter who performs "Hejnal Mariacki" on the tower of St. Mary's Church in Krakow.
"Hejnal Mariacki" as the only melody in the world in F major, played every hour from the church tower (365 days a year). Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Krakow by a trumpeter.
At every full hour the bugle sounds four times in different parts of the world.
The legend:
Why the melody of the bugle call breaks up, as if it was not played to the end, says the legend:
St. Mary's Church, with two towers, was an important place for the city. From the higher, called hejnalica (which is also the highest tower in Krakow) centuries ago, the city guard with a trumpet gave a signal in the morning to open, and in the evening to close the gates of the castle. But not only. He sounded alarm when he saw a fire or an approaching enemy. Once the Tartars, who often attacked Polish villages and towns, came all the way to Krakow, the guard began to play the bugle call. The city gates were closed, but a Tatar arrow pierced the thug's throat before he finished the melody. To commemorate this event, the melody always stops. Whether the trumpeter stood on the St. Mary's tower or on one of the towers of the defensive wall, it is not known.
