📷 TreeTuesday: Forest + Quick Soft Glow Effect TutorialsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #photography7 years ago

Hello friends, for today's #TreeTuesday post, I edited one of my old photos to give a soft glow effect. I first used Lightroom to edit the picture to my liking, then exported to Photoshop for the softening glow. In Photoshop I duplicated the original layer, and gave it a 20% Gaussian blur with a layer opacity of 30%. Using a layer mask, I masked out the tree in the foreground to bring the details back in, leaving the background with the soft glow effect.

Kind of reminds me when you are standing in front of a mirror, with a mirror also behind you. Gives that sort of infinite reality effect. Super cool, and eerie as others have said!! Love it :)

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a wonderful feedback @amberquamme!

Super creepy , reminds me of the grudge :D

Hehe, all that's missing is an actor ;)

Thanks for stopping by @digitalis!

A great edit gives a kind of surreal effect very nice

Thank you, I like to use this effect for forest shots :)

That is a wonderful effect. Fantastic detail comes out in the background. I can see the axe murderer now!

Thanks for the feedback, I love this effect ;)

I just looked again. Truly amazing. I have no ability in photoshop at all.

It looks beautiful. I would have loved to see a side by side comparison of before and after the effects photographs which may help the learner to see what actually changed from the original.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I did consider showing the before and after, maybe now I will re-edit my post :)

Beautiful! This looks like a great place to go!:) Please check my little journey that I made soon. I hope you enjoy my photos. @nakedchef89
