I highly recommend spending some time in the Black Hills if you get the chance. Not only is the landscape beautiful, but you have Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse, which are pretty great even if Rushmore has spawned quite a collection of tourist traps around it. Plus there are the Badlands just east which are amazing and I need to make a trip out just to photograph them. (The one morning I tried on this trip I got chased off by a pack of coyotes.)
Next time I might rent an RV, South Dakota has very open policies about where you can park them.
Sounds amazing. My wife wants an RV more than anything in the world. She's even suggested living in one, but we have 5 kids, so I don't think I'd be up for that. But I would definitely love to travel the country in one with them, and we'll add this to our bucket list! Thanks for sharing.
